Jim Dees

Jim is a native Floridian, raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has lived in Texas since 1989. Jim lived in the DFW area from 1989 until moving to Kemp in 2021. Jim graduated from Tulsa Edison Preparatory High School and earned a BA degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish in 1985 from Oklahoma State University, an MS degree in Counseling and Higher Education in 1988 from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Theological Studies in 2019 from the Perkins School of Theology at SMU. Jim has worked at Southern Methodist University since 1989 where he is currently Assistant Dean of Assessment, Data and Graduate Studies for the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering. Jim is a "cradle Presbyterian" and his call to ministry has been a 36 year "nudge" but he is happy to call First Presbyterian Church of Mabank, "home."
